IIA-Australia developed a professional qualification specifically designed to meet the Australian market and education framework. Build on a globally aligned competency framework, IIA-Australia's professional qualification will ensure you will have the skills you need to practice as a professional internal auditor. The Institute also continues to offer the global CIA program. This qualification is internationally accepted as the global qualification for Internal Auditors. 

With 170,00 members worldwide, membership provides real, tangible value to practitioners of Internal Audit. It offers programs to acquire professional credentials, valuable resources to evolve knowledge, opportunity to expand your network and increased exposure to new ideas or shared thinking with other professionals in the field.

IIA-Australia offers comprehensive and essential quality assurance programs, including facilitated self-assessments, external quality assessments, evaluation of your audit function performance in line with industry benchmarks and conformity to the International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF) - the only standards that are applicable to internal audit.

IIA-Australia is committed to promoting best practice wherever internal auditing is undertaken.  The IIA-Australia operates a range of public and in-house training programs, webinars, events and conferences to ensure that professionals continually improve their technical knowledge and skills.  All of these activities provide Continuing Professional Education (CPE) points based on the number of hours undertaken of approved activity.

A comprehensive range of technical guidance and support resources are available to members in all sectors.  The Knowledge Centre, publications, technical news and one to one technical support all ensure that IIA-Australia members and their employers stay at the cutting edge of best practice and new initiatives.  Our goal is to generate, assemble and make available a valuable body of knowledge which allows all members to excel in their professional roles.

CAE title
The Chief Audit Executive (CAE) Service draws on IIA's global resources to assist in meeting the needs of the CAE's organisations and stakeholders through benchmarking, knowledge sharing, peer discussions and other information services.  CAEs have a key role in advancing the interests of the profession.  IIA-Australia supports CAEs by creating forums - where they can explore and discuss key developments.

The policy agenda comprises fundamental objectives of the Internal Audit community.  It supports an energetic, proactive and effective advocacy role with a sharp focus on representing member interestes and advancing the profession.  As the voice of the audit and assurance community, it aims to influence stakeholders, regulatory, compliance bodies and legislative authorities.  The Institute is committed to maintaining this significant contribution to the public, private and not for profit sectors.
