Understanding and Managing
Regardless at what point of the "digital transformation" journey your
organisation is on, you can be assured that it has and will continue to present
radical changes to the way business is done, as well as adding significant
changes to the risk profile and risk appetite of the organisation and the
associated controls to manage these risks.
Where at one point key assets
remained controlled behind the corporate veil, digital transformation has
brought with it a different way of connecting to customers and suppliers and
consequently, the controls for safeguarding the organisation's key information
assets have also changed. In some instances, the whole concept of what an asset
is has had to be redefined.
So how do we account for the changes in our
risk profile? Are there new risks that need to be considered? And ultimately,
how can we determine if we have the right controls in place and that they are
effective in managing the risks and protecting the assets regardless of where
they now sit in the digital world?
Peter Malan will share
approaches, learnings and anecdotes from the world of Digital Risk Management. The
session will cover common risks that arise from advances in social, mobile and
cloud technology and approaches for management of these risks, including
harnessing the benefits to enable the achievement of strategic business
