IIA-Australia is represented on a number of prominent working groups, regional and global committees in Australia and abroad.

IIA-Australia is a member of:

- Standards Australia
- OB/7 Working group on Australian Risk Standard 31000 and related pronouncements
- MB/4 - Working group on the 8000 series on Corporate Governance
- IT-030 - ICT Governance and Management
IIA-Australia also maintains regular dialogue with regulators, standard setters, industry bodies, external audit bodies and academia right across the country as part of its outreach program. This program aims to increase awareness of the role and nuances of the internal audit profession and to participate in guidance and training to internal audit's greatest stakeholders.
IIA - Regional
Regionally, Australia is represented in the
Asian Confederation of Institutes of Internal Auditors (ACIIA). ACIIA is a confederation of 17 IIA affiliates in the Asia Pacific region comprising: IIA-Australia, IIA China, IIA Chinese Taiwan, IIA Hong Kong China, IIA India, IIA Indonesia, IIA Japan, IIA Korea, IIA Malaysia, IIA Mongolia, IIA New Zealand, IIA Papua New Guinea, IIA Philippines, IIA Singapore, IIA Sri Lanka and IIA Thailand.
ACIIA’s vision is to be the regional voice of the internal auditing profession: advocating its value, promoting best practice, and providing exceptional service to its members.
Steve Coates PFIIA CIA CGAP CRMA Is ACIIA Vice President having been elected in September 2021. He previously served as Honorary Treasurer, having been elected in September 2020.
