The presentation will also offer step-by-step guidance on implementing effective Modern Slavery procedures and discuss the challenges and opportunities in addressing Modern Slavery, that Jackie has encountered with clients.  The objective is to equip attendees with the knowledge and tools necessary to manage Modern Slavery compliance, ensuring ethical business practices and adherence to legislative requirements.

Jackie is an experienced Senior Manager in the Risk Advisory space at BDO Sydney. For the past two years, she has focused on Internal Audit, particularly Modern Slavery compliance reviews. Previously, Jackie spent most of her career in External Audit with Big 4 firms.

Currently, Jackie leads the Modern Slavery field in BDO Risk Advisory alongside the Risk Advisory partner, Mark Griffiths. She has been instrumental in developing Modern Slavery compliance services, helping clients identify and mitigate risks. Jackie assists clients throughout their Modern Slavery journey, from clarifying queries to helping them draft their Modern Slavery statements as required by Australian legislation. Additionally, she supports other BDO teams in responding to client requests and presents awareness training for both current and new clients. Jackie is committed to ethical business practices and fostering a culture of transparency and accountability.
