Past Chair of the Global Board, 2024–25The Institute of Internal Auditors
Sally-Anne Pitt is the 2024–25 Past Chair of the Global Board of Directors of The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and has been a Director on the Global Board for the past six years.
She has 30 years of leadership experience in operational, service delivery, and consulting roles and is globally recognised as an expert in quality assurance. Sally-Anne established Pitt Group in 2003 to provide audit and assurance services to the public sector, civil society, and corporate organisations. She is also the author of Internal Audit Quality: Developing a Quality Assurance and Improvement Program.
Sally-Anne is a Professional Fellow of The Institute of Internal Auditors – Australia, a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), and Certified Government Auditing Professional (CGAP). She has a Bachelor of Applied Science degree, a Master of Public Policy degree, and has completed post-graduate business studies at the Darden Business School, University of Virginia (US).
She is the Chair of the Tertiary Education Qualifications and Standards Authority (TEQSA) Audit and Risk Committee and, until 2022, was a member of the Lifeblood (Red Cross) Advisory Committee and Australian Bone Marrow Donor Registry Ethics Committee. She is a former Director of IIA-Australia, Chair of The IIA’s Global Profession.

Tania has over 30 years’ experience in audit, compliance and risk and has held senior roles in government, public practice and the corporate sector.
Tania is a Fellow Chartered Accountant and Certified Internal Auditor and spent 10 years in audit, risk and advisory with both KPMG and Ernst & Young. She has since worked for a diverse range of companies including BHP, Rio Tinto, Suncorp, Tabcorp and the Leighton Group. In recent years, Tania took on a special assignment at the Australian Catholic Church where she developed an audit and risk framework in response to the 2017 Royal Commission into Child Sexual Abuse.
Tania has been an active member of the IIA for 20 years, and has participated in numerous advisory groups and councils, including: Vice-Chair of the Qld Chapter Council; Chair of the Victorian Chapter Council; Director for the IIA Australia Board and Chair of IIA Global’s Committee of Research and Education. In July 2021, Tania was appointed as a Director to the IIA Global Board and in June 2022, Tania was awarded the prestigious Bob McDonald Award by the Institute of Internal Auditors for excellence in the field of internal auditing and contribution to the profession.
Tania now has the role of General Manager Internal Audit for Auto & General, a global network in underwriting, distributing and administering a variety of insurance products.
