Whistleblowing, investigating and Reporting – Online Classroom

October 30 @ 10:30 am - October 31 @ 1:30 pm AEDT

$563.64 - $760.00
Ever been involved in the whistleblowing process and need to know more?

A whistleblowing policy is essential to any organisation. Internal auditors are ‘eligible recipients’ under the Corporations Act and whistleblowers may disclose a whistleblower matter to an internal auditor or external auditor, including a member of an audit team conducting an audit. As a result, internal auditors need to understand their obligations, manage disclosures, and conduct effective investigations and reporting.
This training course will cover the role of internal audit in the whistle-blower compliance program and provide practical insights for Internal Auditors on how to add value to the organisation.

At the end of the training course, the participants will be able to:
  • outline the whistleblower legislation requirements and standards including ISO 37002
  • determine the role of internal audit and other parts of the organisation in the whistle-blower compliance program
  • protect the whistle-blower and yourself – understanding roles, responsibilities, and anonymity rules
  • efficiently handle a whistle-blower who makes a report to the internal audit team
  • relate internal auditor as a whistleblower and eligible recipient
  • outline what the best practice whistle-blower framework looks like?
  • manage disclosures made to the internal audit team
  • whistleblower legislation requirements link to internal Whistleblower Policy and Investigation Process
  • describe the evidence-gathering structure
  • list the practical tips and best practices for conducting the investigation process
  • list the statutory law, the laws of evidence and procedure, legal privileges
  • analyse and evaluate the evidence and red flags
  • describe what to include in an investigation report.

Online Classroom: This training program will be delivered in 3-hour lessons (10:30 am – 01:30 pm AEDT) over two days on 30 and 31 October using Zoom.

Registrations will be strictly limited to 12 participants to allow maximum interaction in the online environment.
