On behalf of the IIA-Australia‚Äôs Tasmania Chapter Council we invite you to the Tassie goes "Biblical": Risk Management for droughts, fire, floods and pestilence.

Presenter: Chris Topham BE(Hons), MEngSci, GradCertMagt, MIE(Aust)

Chris Topham is a professional engineer with over 22 years of experience in infrastructure engineering and management, and currently manages corporate risk, insurance, and emergency management for the Hydro Tasmania Group.  He has been responsible for delivery of asset and risk management programmes in the irrigation, urban water supply and power industries.  For much of his career, he has practiced in dams engineering and risk assessment, including involvement with numerous risk-based upgrades to high and extreme hazard dams in Australia.  Chris has extensive experience in both corporate and asset risk analysis, evaluation, and reporting, utilising both quantitative and qualitative risk approaches.  During his time managing portfolios of dams, he has been heavily involved in emergency planning for dam breaks, and has managed several actual dam safety and emergency incidents, including the failure of Carisbrook Dam in Victoria in 2002, and the state wide bushfire crisis and unprecedented flooding in Tasmania in 2016.
