WA Joint Members Meeting - April

Making Data Analytics Great Again!

(This meeting will be held in conjunction with ISACA)

All organisations are being challenged with issues of how to record, manage, retain and control vast amounts of electronic data. The intelligent use of such data can be a powerful tool in building competitive advantage for organisations and can enable them to more effectively meet the needs of their customers or stakeholders. Internal Audit is no different. Data analytics has progressed significantly in recent years and leading Internal Audit functions are using this as a highly effective tool to deliver more value from audit activities.

In this session, you will get insights into the practical application of data analytics, with examples and case studies.  The session will be presented jointly by Ernest Sellers from South32, Mark Hamill from Fortescue Metals Group and How Boon Tay from Deloitte.

Areas covered in the session include:

  • What is possible with Data Analytics?
  • Overcoming the technical challenges
  • Aligning analytics to risk and control
  • Getting buy-in from management and the Audit Committee
  • Turning Data Analytics from a “cost” into an “investment”

To ensure the session focuses on the right issues, we are asking attendees to complete a short 4 question survey that will enable the presenters to tailor the session to address the areas of greatest interest.  Please click HERE to complete the survey.
