The Queensland Audit Office (QAO) conducts a number of performance audits which examine whether government services have been delivered in a way that is efficient, effective and complies with relevant requirements.  This session will look at emerging themes, challenges and learnings for all agencies from QAO’s performance audit reports recently tabled in Parliament.



Daphne Cockerill 
Director, Queensland Audit Office

Daphne has over 20 years professional experience in both public and private sectors.  Prior to starting in her current role with the QAO, Daphne delivered assurance and advisory services for various Commonwealth, QLD and ACT government agencies, including the Australian National Audit Office and the ACT Auditor-General’s Office.  Daphne’s public sector experience spans performance audit, internal audit, financial statement audit, IT audit, risk management, financial due diligence and program evaluation.

Daphne has led professional engagements across a diverse range of government portfolios, including health and human services, infrastructure, city services, education, legal services, and environmental services. Daphne holds several qualifications, including CPA in Australia and the US, BEcon, MBA and JD, as well as CIA and CISA.
