QLD Members' Meeting - October 2019

Our significant others: managing third party risk through effective contract management

The Queensland Chapter would like to invite you to their upcoming members' meeting.

In a growing ecosystem of suppliers and collaboration partners, combined with limited company resources, organisations need to have well-defined processes for the effective management of third parties.

Getting sustained value and managing risk from contracts and spend with third-parties is an ongoing challenge for most organisations. Even where there are standard controls and processes in place, the value identified at the negotiation stage often erodes over the life of a contract through poor performance, missed opportunities and inefficient practices.

In our experience, organisations often fail to embed good governance and controls around contract management. This session will explore how contract outcomes can be improved and risk can be managed by adopting a more deliberate and structured approach to contract management.  It will discuss considerations for the exercise of contract audit rights and how these can be embedded as part of vendor management program. The session will include discussion on cybersecurity for IT-related contracts and emerging trends in the management of third-party cyber risk.
