Clash of the Titans: COVID-19 vs Cybercrime

Sanitisation, distancing with appropriate controls, restrictions and rapid response environment shutdowns with subsequent easing - are we talking COVID or cyber incidents and security?

There is a lot of information swirling around regarding the “new paradigm” of businesses operations with a dispersed workforce and the associated risks, both internal and external. In truth, business have been operating with expanded networks for some time already, so it begs the question as to whether the COVID-19 lockdown is really such a big change in  thinking or is it a matter of sharpened focus as a result of the virus?

Join us for an insight into what is actually happening out there and some of the fundamental steps that entities can take to protect themselves both in the current environment and as we commence the process of returning to the new norm.


Stan Gallo, Partner, Forensic, BDO
Stan is a Partner with BDO Forensic Services.  He is a highly regarded risk specialist who combines proactive risk management, investigative and technology skills to assist organisations in aligning Governance, Risk and Compliance programs with their strategic objectives.

Stan provides risk management advice and assistance in both proactive and reactive capacities. He specialises in fraud, misconduct and compliance related matters, and the identification, preservation and analysis of digital evidence in cyber and technology related investigations.

He has authored numerous technology related articles in a range of publications and has been involved in media appearances, publications and presentations both in Australia and internationally.
