Blacktown City Council - Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee (ARIC) - Independent Representative (two-year Term)

Blacktown City’s ARIC provides Council with independent assurance and assistance in the areas of risk, internal controls, governance and external accountability responsibilities.

The Charter of the ARIC requires that appropriately qualified, experienced persons, independent of Council, sit on the Committee.  Expressions of Interest are being sought from members of the public with appropriate experience in a Senior Executive or Management position in government, public company or not-for- profit organisation, with exposure to accounting, financial, legal, industrial relations issues, enterprise risk and/or audit to fill 1 vacancy as an Independent member of Council’s ARIC.

Selection criteria requires that members chosen to serve on the Committee exhibit an independence of mind in their deliberations and not act as a representative of a particular area of the Community or Council, or with conflicts of interest.  Meeting preparation and attendance at four meetings is required each year.  A standard fee is paid for attendance.
