Extract/Description	Assurance is expensive. For this reason, it is important for organisations to get it right when determining the make-up of their assurance environment. For effective organisation assurance all organisational assurance activities should be visible to the audit committee and senior management, including assessment of their effectiveness.
Key Points	Assurance maps are generally the first step in an assurance strategy process and provide comfort that key organisation risks are adequately covered by assurance activities.
