Excellence Awards

Bob McDonald Award for Excellence

The Bob McDonald Award is the highest honour that can be conferred by the IIA-Australia on one of its members. It is named in honour of the first Australian to hold the position of International Chairperson of IIA Global and of his outstanding contribution to the profession of internal audit. Recipients of the Bob McDonald Professional Excellence Award are considered true leaders, advocates and champions of good governance for public good.

First presented in June 2004, the inaugural recipient of the Bob McDonald Award was Frank Bowles CIA FIIA(Aust). To date recipients of the prestigious professional award are:

Internal Audit Team of the Year

The Internal Audit Team of the Year Award recognises an internal audit function/team that excels in the provision of internal audit services to their organisation and contributes to the elevation of the profession generally.

By remaining independent of management, internal audit provides objective, unbiased, evidence-based recommendations to management and the Board, facilitating fully informed decision-making.

IIA-Australian Champion of the Year Award (formerly Meritorious)

The Champion Award recognises meritorious service or contributions to the IIA-Australia. Nominations are made by Chapter Councils, IIA-Australia Directors or staff.
