Upgrading and Updating Type of Membership and Class of Membership

 
The type of membership (i.e. Practitioner, Leader, Portfolio) determines the benefits you receive. However, it is the class of membership (Associate, Professional or Professional Fellow) that acknowledges your skill and experience level. Here you can see how to progress through both.  

Change Class of Membership

Show to others your professional experience through your class of membership.
  1. Professional Fellow: This is the highest membership class for IIA-Australia. To qualify, you must have been a Professional Member for a minimum of fifteen (15) years, be of good character and professional standing, and be endorsed by another Professional Fellow of the IIA-Australia.  

    APPLY FOR FELLOWSHIP

  2. Professional: This class of membership recognises experience in the profession. To qualify, you must have one of the following: A designated professional education program of competency of the IIA-Australia as offered from time to time; A current CIA® or other such certification as determined by IIA-Australia; and/or Assessment of current competence delivered by IIA-Australia. 

    APPLY FOR PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIP

  3. Associate: An Associate Member of the IIA-Australia must hold a degree, diploma or equivalent; and be working as a governance, risk and assurance (GRA) professional (such as internal audit, enterprise risk or controls assurance. This is the voting membership entry point.
