Audit Committee Prequalification

Get prequalified or find your next ARC member

Welcome to the IIA-Australia’s Audit Committee Prequalification Scheme, part of the Commonwealth Government Department of Finance's program to support good governance under RMG 202. The Scheme prequalifies prospective audit committee chairs and members, providing a register for organisations seeking to appoint independent chairs and members to their audit committee.

Prequalify for Audit Committees

Join the many IIA-Australia members who have expanded their Portfolio careers through this Prequalification Scheme.

To be eligible for the Scheme you must have Professional or Professional Fellow Membership status

About the Register

Once you have successfully applied, your details are added to the Register. The Register is not publicly available, rather enquiries are received and assessed, before IIA-Australia matches suitable candidates. If you are a match, we supply your name and contact details for that organisation to connect with you.

Application process

  1. Complete the application form - make sure you include the names of two professional referees and specify the sectors and locations you are interested in.
  2. Your application is then assessed, and you will be notified of the outcome.
  3. If successful, your details are added to the Scheme’s register of people qualified for audit committee chairing and membership.

Find a Prequalified Audit Committee Member

If you are looking for an ARC Chair or member, you have come to the right place.

In our assessment of applications for the Register, we look for knowledge and skill across governance, risk and assurance; sector and general expertise; and specific skills that can be applied at audit committee level to enhance the value to the organisation.

Every person on the Register undergoes reference checks. As members of the Institute each person is required to continue their professional education and is bound by the rules of the Institute in relation to professional and ethical conduct.

The Scheme is suitable for the public sector (Australian government, state and territory government, local government), corporate sector and not-for-profit organisations.

If you have a committee position to fill, let us know the details and we will search the Register and let you know the names and contact details of any suitable matches.
