People who give their time and energy to help the profession and others in the profession are the lifeblood of IIA. The Champion of the Year Award recognises meritorious service and contributions to IIA-Australia membership.

Eligibility

Award criteria includes: 

  • Submission of a completed nomination form for IIA-Australia members who: have made a significant contribution to IIA-Australia through their volunteering, are financial and good professional standing.

People who are ineligible to apply for this award:​

  • Members of IIA Global and IIA-Australia Board and Committees
  • Any person who has directly or indirectly received payment for work performed for IIA-Australia in the 12 months prior to nomination.

Process & Requirements

  • Nominations close midnight AEDT 3 November 2025

  • A member of the IIA-Team may conduct a preliminary screening interviews with the nominator and seconder.  

  • Eligible submissions that have passed preliminary screening will be presented to the IIA-Australia Nominations Committee and it will determine which nominations proceed to the Board (if any). Nominators may be called to appear to support their nomination. 

  • Board will review the Nominations Committee recommendations

  • Successful recipients will be notified 18 December 2025. At this time, they will be asked to make travel plans to attend the SOPAC® in Sydney 2026. 

  • The judging panel will determine the winner remain confidential until announced during SOPAC®.
