Professional Standing

  • Post-nominals/minimum criteria for Practitioner, Leader and Portfolio memberships. Within the IIA-Australia voting membership structure, there are three classes:
    • Associate Members (AMIIA). To be eligible, an individual must hold a degree, diploma or equivalent; and be working as a governance, risk and controls assurance (GRC) professional (such as internal audit, enterprise risk or controls assurance).
    • Professional Members (PMIIA). To be eligible, an individual must meet the criteria of Associate Membership and have one of the following: be a graduate of the Graduate Certificate in Internal Auditing; hold a current CIA® or CRMA®; successfully passed an IIA-Australia administered assessment of current competence.
    • Professional Fellow Members (PFIIA). To be eligible, an individual must have been a Professional Member for a minimum of fifteen years, be of good character and professional standing, and be endorsed by another Professional Fellow of the IIA-Australia.
