Extract/Description | Projects are risky and many chief executives and senior managers have been terminated when projects have failed. Yet many organisations continue to rely on poorly constructed business cases and unvalidated self-assessed project reporting to make million-dollar decisions. Internal audit is required to be risk-based, and projects are often the riskiest endeavours an organisation will pursue. Nevertheless many internal audit functions do little or nothing around projects. This publication examines the concept of project assurance and why it is desirable to establish assurance activities for projects. |
