Student Support Services

The Institute of Internal Auditors‐Australia (IIA‐Australia) is committed to the well-being and safety of all students and to ensuring its students are provided with the support and resources required to assist them to be successful in their studies. Support is provided to all students equally with an appropriate range of services such as:

  • learning support
  • counselling support
  • administration support
  • sexual assault and sexual harassment support
  • mental health support
  • bullying support 

Additionally, comprehensive learning and library resources are available. 

IIA-Australia staff are available via [email protected] and tutors are available via Moodle. All discussions are treated confidentially.

Counselling Services

We are partnered with Nexus Psychology to provide individually matched referrals to experienced clinicians who specialise in a wide range of workplace and emotional issues. Students of the GradCertIA have FREE and CONFIDENTIAL EAP service and are able to access one session per calendar year.

Appeals

If a candidate considers the final grade they received for a Module to be incorrect or unfair, the candidate has the right to appeal the grade by lodging a Grade Appeal.

The candidate should contact the Registrar to discuss their concerns in relation to the Grade Appeal in the first instance. If the candidate’s concerns are not resolved through the discussion with the Registrar, they may proceed to lodge a Grade Appeal.

Grade Appeals are covered in the Assessment Policy.

Grievances

A Grievance Policy exists and covers all matters raised by a candidate or a prospective candidate that they considers may result in academic or non-academic disadvantage.

A grievance may relate to:

  • Candidate admission processes;
  • Enrolment;
  • Academic issues that have not been satisfactorily dealt with under the relevant policy;
  • Privacy; or
  • Unfair treatment including discrimination, harassment, and bullying.
